What is Biodynamic Farming?
Biodynamic farming views the farm as a fully fledged living ecosystem that works in an holistic and integrated manner. Therefore, the trees, the land, the animals and the farmer himself all become part of a single self-sufficient ecosystem that always keeps itself healthy and fertile. This “cultivation philosophy” theorised in 1924 by Rudolf Steiner not only adheres to the basic principles of organic farming, such as not using any chemical fertilisers or pesticides, but also aims to improve both the quality of foods for human consumption as well as the overall ecosystem of which each farm is a part. Thanks to a growing awareness of the effects that diet has on our quality of life, biodynamic farming methods have spread and grown consistently over time.
Why choose biodynamic ice-creams?
To enjoy 100% natural products
Only substances of natural origin are utilised both in the production of the raw materials and the manufacturing of the ice-cream itself: indeed, no synthesised chemical fertilisers, pesticides, weed killers, medicinal products or preservatives whatsoever are used at any stage in the farming and manufacturing process.
In order to live in a cleaner and healthier environment
Organic farming techniques respect the environment and its equilibriums, in other words they limit air and water pollution, avoid excessive exploitation of natural resources, prevent soil erosion, avert the extinction of useful organisms and preserve environmental biodiversity.
To protect the dignity of animals
The animals that produce the raw materials for our ice-creams enjoy a natural lifestyle: they have more space, even outdoors, they are fed according to their needs and exclusively on plant matter and no hormones or artificial growth stimulants whatsoever are used.
To have better soil and tastier fruits
Healthy soils produce fruit that is not only healthier, but also tastier! Indeed, utilising only organic substances and farming techniques that do not intensively exploit the soil actually improves the condition of the land and the fruit it produces while preserving the natural fertility of the environment.
In support of research and innovation
Choosing to produce organic and biodynamic ice-creams is not an attempt to return to the past. On the contrary, our production techniques are the result of new skills and a constant commitment to producing healthy, high quality ice-creams while reducing both our environmental impact and the number of ingredients we utilise.
